David brings to Venti OpEx Advisors and its clients the perspectives earned through more than twenty years of successful leadership in Operations. His extensive experience is concentrated in leveraging value engineering, strategic sourcing and lean manufacturing techniques to improve operational efficiencies and financial performance.
David is recognized for rapidly establishing credibility as a discerning change agent, who effectively builds liaisons among diverse stakeholders. His leadership style also is credited with blending a drive for results with attention to team building and personnel development. Not surprisingly, those attributes found David regularly deployed to improve the contributions of underperforming business units.
Before founding Venti OpEx Advisors, David led Operations in both manufacturing and service companies within regulated and non-regulated environments. His corporate experience spans from smaller, privately held firms to multi-billion dollar global conglomerates. His aggressive career growth has taken him inside an array of industries including aerospace, defense, telecomm, electronics, medical device and industrial suppliers. In addition to centralized responsibilities for international divisions and off-shore supply chains, David has fulfilled various short-term relocation and ex-pat assignments.
While his last corporate position was COO, David began his professional career as an Associate Quality Engineer for a medical device manufacturer. That early role ingrained the importance of delivering quality to the customer. It also underscored the value of thoroughly understanding problems before applying solutions. As a result, David honed an outcomes-oriented approach to his roles that rapidly advanced him through Quality and Operations Management.
David teams the depth of experience gained by coming up through the ranks with the breadth of experience developed through C-level responsibilities. He supplements those real-world foundations with the expanded perspectives and peer networks gained through advanced education. David earned a Masters of Technology Management from the School of Engineering at the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN). He also completed a one-year Executive Leadership Program through Oxford Saïd Business School (Oxford, UK).
